1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading or using SwipeLeft ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is made by Winton Gee ("we" or "us"). It shows your photos and videos one at a time so you can swipe left to send them to the trash or swipe right to keep them.

2. Photo deletion and your responsibility

How deletion works

When you swipe left on a photo or video, it moves to the in-app trash. Nothing is removed until you confirm deletion in the Trash tab. Deleted items then move to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where they can be recovered for up to 30 days under Apple's standard policy.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming which photos and videos you delete. We strongly recommend:

  • Reviewing the items in the in-app trash before you confirm deletion
  • Keeping regular backups of important photos and videos
  • Using iCloud Photos or another backup service

No recovery guarantee

Deleted photos stay in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days, but we cannot guarantee that any deleted item can be recovered. After the 30 days, iOS deletes them permanently.

3. Termination

We may end or suspend your access to the app at any time, without notice, for conduct we believe breaks these terms or harms other users, us or third parties. When access ends, your right to use the app ends with it. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue, including the disclaimers, limits of liability and intellectual property terms, continue to apply.

4. Eligibility and requirements

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
  • The app runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later, or iPad with iPadOS 17 or later.

5. Free tier and Pro

The free version includes 50 swipes a day. The limit resets at midnight in your local time zone. SwipeLeft Pro removes the daily limit and is available as:

  • Pro monthly: an auto-renewing subscription, $4.99 a month in the US (prices vary by region)
  • Pro lifetime: a one-time purchase, $14.99 in the US (prices vary by region)

Subscription terms

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel the subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Canceling stops the next renewal; the subscription stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

6. Apple's standard license

The app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (opens in a new tab), together with these terms. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement applies to the license. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.

7. Your data

Your review history, statistics and settings are stored only on your device. Photos you delete go through the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app. See the privacy policy for details.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that the app will meet your specific requirements, that any data loss can be prevented or recovered, or that defects will be corrected.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WINTON GEE IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM LOSS OF DATA, PHOTOS OR VIDEOS, LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, OR LOSS OF USE OF THE APP. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Intellectual property

The app, including its design and content, is owned by Winton Gee and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Using the app after that date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
