Getting started
How SwipeLeft works
SwipeLeft helps you clean up your photo library by showing your photos one at a time. Swipe left to send a photo to SwipeLeft's trash, swipe right to keep it. When you have reviewed your photos, confirm deletions in the Trash tab.

Permissions
SwipeLeft needs full access to your photo library. All processing happens on your device, and your photos are never uploaded to any server. When asked, choose Allow Full Access so the app can show and manage your photos.
System requirements
- iPhone with iOS 17 or later
- iPad with iPadOS 17 or later
- Full photo library access

Photos and privacy
On-device processing
SwipeLeft processes every photo on your device. No photos or videos are uploaded, synced or sent to any server.
How deletion works
When you swipe left on a photo, it moves to SwipeLeft's trash. After you confirm deletion in the Trash tab, the photos move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where Apple keeps them for 30 days before removing them permanently. If iCloud Photos is on, deleting a photo deletes it on every device that uses iCloud Photos.
Recover deleted photos
If you deleted a photo by mistake, recover it in the Photos app within 30 days:
- Tap Collections, then Recently Deleted, listed under Utilities
- Tap View Album and unlock with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode
- Tap Select, choose the photo, then tap Recover
For more ways to undo mistakes, see how to recover photos you deleted by mistake.
Reset your review history
To review photos you have already swiped on, open Settings in SwipeLeft and tap Reset Kept Photos. This clears your review history so every photo shows as unreviewed.
