Privacy policy
Introduction
This policy explains what information SwipeLeft ("the app") handles and where it goes. The app is made by Winton Gee ("we" or "us"). In short: your photos never leave your device, and we never see them.
Information stored on your iPhone
All photo processing happens on your device. The app keeps the following in its own storage there. None of it is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- Reviewed photos: the photo library identifier of each photo you review, the action you took (kept or trashed) and when.
- Usage statistics: photos reviewed, photos deleted, storage space freed and the date you started using the app.
- App settings: whether you finished onboarding, your daily swipe count for the free limit and the date of your last swipe.
Photo library access
SwipeLeft needs full access to your photo library. It uses that access only to:
- Show your photos and videos for review in the app
- Delete the photos and videos you send to the trash and then confirm
Limited photo library access is not supported, because the app needs to show and manage your whole library for swiping to work.
How the app uses this information
- To remember which photos you have already reviewed
- To show your statistics in the app
- To apply the free daily swipe limit
- To keep your app settings
How photo deletion works
When you swipe left on a photo, it goes to the in-app trash. After you confirm deletion in the Trash tab, the photos move to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where they can be recovered for 30 days under Apple's policy. SwipeLeft cannot permanently delete photos; iOS does the final deletion.
Purchases
SwipeLeft Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details.
The app uses RevenueCat to process purchases and check whether Pro is active. RevenueCat receives:
- Your purchase history and subscription status for this app
- An anonymous device identifier
RevenueCat does not receive your photos, your review history or your statistics. For how RevenueCat handles data, see its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Information we do not collect
- No uploads of your photos or videos to any server
- No analytics or tracking
- No advertising
- No personal identification information
- No social login and no social media data
Keeping and deleting your data
- Reset Kept Photos: in the app, go to Settings and tap Reset Kept Photos to clear your review history.
- Delete everything: delete the app from your device. This removes all the data it stored there.
- Purchase history: your purchase record with Apple and RevenueCat is tied to your Apple Account and stays after you delete the app, so you can restore Pro later.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you think a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
